General Habitat: Small Canyon running N-S with dense Gambel Oak Forest to 25' tall on E-facing slopes. Rhus trilobata in more open areas. Heavily grazed. No understory in oak forest.

Microhabitat: Small thatch shelter for large strange rose-red galls at base of mature Gambel Oak. Galls were attached to base of two small sprouts coming from the tree. Shade. 2" oak litter.
