Remarks: Separated from Cidaris abyssicola (MCZ 183) by D. W. Kirtley. Kirtley gives depth as 349.3 M. However, both S. Smith (1889) & MCZ Bull. Vol.VI, No. 1 give depth of 195 fms (=356.6m). Returned in isopropyl alcohol, changed to 80% EtOH. Ex-Marine Invertebrates catalog number is MCZ 183, G. C. Brooks, 12.ii.2010. Rehoused in 70% EtOH. Handwritten jar label reads: "empty - no worms"; tubes only.
