  • Bidwell's Egg. First record of this egg was as part of the contents of the Little Hermitage sold by Cecil Hulkes without the rarity and importance of the specimens being known. Wallace Hewett purchased this and one other egg (which has subsequently disappeared) guessing their identity. This egg changed hands several times (one of it's owners being Edward Bidwell from whom it got it's name) before being bought by Rowland Ward for John Thayer.
